OUR DREAMER

Sa.

Namaste, my
name is Sa!

I’m fifteen years old and growing up in the Ombir Family together with my brother Sh.

Since birth, I have too much fluid in my head which affects my hearing and sight very badly. I spend most of my time alone because I can't get along so well at school or with group activities.

I need to wear glasses and often accidentally break them when I pick them up off the table. I'm so strong that even my big brothers can't always handle me, ha-ha. I’m proud of how strong I am.

My big
brother Mick

Although you may not immediately think it when you see me, and what almost nobody else knows, is that I’m one of the happiest children in our family. I spend a lot of time alone because I am not so good at participating in group activities. It goes too quick for me.

Fortunately, I spend a lot of time with my big brother Mick. He takes very good care of me and we enjoy many jokes together. He always makes me laugh so much that I can't stop, ha-ha. He really is a great guy.

I love to be
at school

I love being at school and this is where I spend most of my time. Even though I can’t hear well, and my sight is poor, I do my very best to get good grades. I stay a bit longer after school every day for extra tuition. This really helps me because, just like the rest of my other brothers and sisters, I can also move up to the next school year.

All the teachers are very kind to me and help me a lot. My big brother Mick picks me up from school every day. Nobody knows this, but only Mick can pick me up from school because I won’t hold hands with anyone else when walking home.

I really enjoy painting

If you would ask me when I feel most happy. Then it’s when I’m dancing and singing. Preferably with my sisters, but I dance and sing just as sweetly when I’m alone. All day long! I also really enjoy painting. I forget everything else when I’m doing things like this.

I hope to see
you in the future!

When I grow up, I’d like to be a teacher. It’s great how all the teachers help me as I just can't do it all that well. I think I’ll be a strict teacher. I don't want children to hurt each other or to be running wildly through the school. I dream of a world where everyone is jolly and happy.

As a young girl, the future is still far away. I’m fortunate that I can go to school every day, as I really enjoy it. And I am very happy that I have extra tuition because then I will be able to move up to the next school year, just like all my brothers and sisters.

Thanks to you, I can go to school every day and can realize my dreams. We are embarking on a special adventure together. Not only do you enrich my world, but I also yours.

You will always be the first to receive my school report, new photos and I hope we will send letters to each other; that would be great!
